Seal Beach

This particular afternoon early June we decided to head over to Seal Beach walk the Pier and than grab some dinner. We did some window shopping and Johnnie was busy pointing and saying words as we walked down the street. The view of the Pier and on the Pier are always great.
The kids love the beach no matter what time of year and today was no exception.
It was windy and the tide was coming in. Its a little hard to see here but there was a large sand ditch and the waves were crashing hard so we had to be careful not to let the kids get too close to the drop. Johnnie didn't really understand why he couldn't go closer, but in a minute you will see what happens!
Some handling of dried sea weed and other finds.
The happy sand dance.
Playing and not realzing what was coming his way. As we called him the poor little guy started running to us and looked back at a very large crashing wave in fear.
This wave got him up to the knees and while I missed the photo op of his face he was soaked from the knees down and crying.
On our way back up from the beach there is a great little outdoor sandy playground which the kids love.
We stopped on the way home and had a wonderful dinner and some bold red wine -delish!
