Daddy and Me Swimming Lessons

As we are a definite fish family and find that we are often around water whether at the beach, boating, pools or lakes we believe it is really important for our kids to be swimmers. Kelsey has been doing great over the past year with the water and as young John is so mobile and so fearless we enrolled him in swimming at the pool. Kelsey had her group lessons at the same time as the Daddy and Me so it worked out perfectly. Now Kelsey has swimming once a week at camp and private lessons with Mommy ( a former Swim Instructor and Lifeguard for six years) every chance we hit the pool.
Johnnie loves the water and will go under and blow bubbles. He also loves to jump in, this is just how Kelsey started.
He still has a lot of assistance from grown ups but is using floaties and just loves the freedom, although we are never more than arms length from him.
The time slot was great because there were never more than four kids sometimes three so it was like a semi-private lesson for Kelsey. After lessons everyone like to get into the hot tub for a few minutes and unwind.
These pics were from Lakewood and since we took them Kelsey is very close to loosing her floaties all together and has been jumping into 8 feet and almost can swim the width (not the length) of the pool in the shallow end. Water can be so much fun but so scary all at the same time. We hope there will be many more times to come of fun in the water.

  1. Yeah I want to get my kids set up in swim lessons ASAP. It is just getting Gabe to do it with them in the day since I am at home all day.
